JD — the work
About the role
A senior leadership role at Executive Director level within the company's AI group, leading AI and machine learning work across investment banking and fixed income businesses. You would report to the head of AI and data, define the technical agenda, and coach a small team focused on capital markets, pricing, and risk problems. The role calls for deep ML expertise, a real grasp of how fixed income markets work, and the influence to get models used by traders and adopted firm-wide, and it includes representing the firm with academia, regulators, and technology partners.
What you'll do
- Run major AI initiatives across rates, credit, fixed income trading, and banking, covering pricing, execution, risk, and origination
- Oversee models for hard-to-price securities, price and spread forecasts, default and prepayment risk, and yield curve behavior
- Act as the lead authority on causal inference, generative AI, RAG, LLM analytics, and simulation in quant finance
- Convert hard problems from trading desks and bankers into firm-wide ML solutions that show measurable profit and risk-adjusted value
- Coach the data scientists reporting to you, with high standards for rigor and for using AI responsibly
- Align AI work with firm priorities alongside traders, coverage bankers, risk leaders, managing directors, and executive committees
- Establish standards for model governance, reproducibility, and testing that hold up to capital markets controls and regulators
What they're looking for
- 10+ years in data science or quantitative modeling, including senior technical leadership
- Deep machine learning expertise alongside a detailed understanding of how fixed income markets work
- A record of persuading senior decision-makers and producing results you can measure
- Strong Python or R, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and vector databases
