JD — the work
About the role
You would put leading models, especially LLMs, to work automating labor-intensive processes for governments and large institutions in areas like healthcare, public administration, and energy, including turning fresh research into systems that run in production for national governments. The company has grown quickly to well over 100 people, most of them engineers. Unlike consulting-heavy models, engineers visit client sites only about once a quarter, so the focus stays on building, and every project is expected to reach production and deliver measurable impact.
What you'll do
- Build and ship LLM-based systems that take over labor-heavy workflows across several industries
- Create data pipelines that scale, and tune models for accuracy and speed ahead of production
- Keep deployed models healthy through monitoring and upkeep so they keep paying off for government customers
- Tackle projects like optimizing energy generation, updating public-sector workflows, and improving care in public health systems
- Partner with public officials in several countries, working next to researchers, engineers, and former founders
- Wear several hats across engineering, product management, sales, and stakeholder communication
- Stay current on ML research, take part in code reviews, and model strong engineering practice
What they're looking for
- 3 to 10 years of experience building and deploying machine learning systems
- Hands-on work with LLMs, taking models from prototype through to production
- Strong Python skills with PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Comfort working directly with senior government and enterprise stakeholders
- Willingness to travel for client visits about once every three months
