JD — the work
About the role
You would own the pipelines that turn raw CAD files into training data for foundation models, at a lab that has already released one generative CAD model and is now training the next. The work combines computational geometry, the internals of CAD kernels and AI research, and you would partner closely with researchers on how data is encoded and how the model is structured.
What you'll do
- Write high-throughput pipelines that take in CAD from many file formats and prepare it for ML
- Convert parametric data, feature trees and B-rep solids into shared representations that models can learn from
- Program directly against CAD kernels to query, edit and analyze solid models
- Help researchers steer model architecture as the way data is encoded changes over time
- Automate every stage of the pipeline, including extraction, encoding, verification and reconstruction
- Depending on your background, take charge of sourcing and curating CAD datasets
What they're looking for
- 6+ years of hands-on engineering experience
- Strong computational geometry skills and working knowledge of CAD kernel internals
- Familiarity with parametric CAD data, B-rep solids and feature trees
- A track record of building fast, high-performance data pipelines
- Proficiency in Python and C/C++ for geometry and pipeline work
- Interest in shaping model and data design alongside AI researchers
