About the role
You would be the only designer at a small, fast-growing enterprise AI startup, owning design as well as front-end engineering for its products. Customers include major media and entertainment companies, and your work will decide how intricate AI workflows appear and behave for users in production. Nobody sits above you on design: you set the direction and work directly with the founders and engineers.
What you'll do
- Lead UI and UX for a new AI evaluation product used by support and IT staff who are not engineers
- Turn early concepts and user feedback into wireframes and then shipped, production-quality interfaces
- Create a shared component library and design-system conventions that set the look of the whole product
- Pick up full-stack work and internal tooling now and then to make the team's development smoother
- Act as the entire design function, making design calls on your own
What they're looking for
- Up to 3 years of experience blending UI design with front-end engineering
- Strong TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS skills
- Comfort owning design decisions without a design lead and working directly with founders
- Interest in making complex AI workflows usable for non-technical enterprise users
- Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco
