About the role
You would own design systems from product to brand as a design and front-end engineer, with the CEO as your direct manager. The focus is a new docs and content management product, where you shape its look, feel, and behavior across every surface users touch and work on new interaction problems. You would also put in place the tooling and workflows that let engineering ship at scale without lowering the design bar, effectively starting the design practice from zero alongside people who care about craft.
What you'll do
- Lead product design for how teams and developers write, collaborate on content, and coordinate with AI agents
- Create marketing content that tells the product's story: social assets, landing pages, and video
- Define the brand and visual identity across product and social, from type and color to layout, motion, and voice
- Codify the brand as tokens, components, docs, and code-first tooling that both human engineers and AI tools can build with
- Use the products yourself and talk to users often, pushing to remove friction wherever you find it
What they're looking for
- 5+ years of experience across design and front-end engineering
- Craft across product design, brand, and visual design, with close attention to detail
- Front-end skills in React, Next.js, HTML, CSS, and utility-first styling, plus Figma
- Comfort building a design function and its processes from scratch
- Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco
