About the role
You would lead the team that owns the context layer behind the product's AI agents, the place where users can watch agents work with their data, see where answers fall short, and refine the context agents rely on. The goal is a product that gets smarter with every use, and the team is working through open questions: debugging agent reasoning failures, structuring business context, balancing human review with automatic improvement, and connecting to the wider AI tooling ecosystem.
What you'll do
- Lead the team that owns the context layer for the product's AI agents
- Shape the technical plan, give design feedback, and write code alongside the team
- Manage the engineers on your team directly, holding a high standard and helping each one grow
- Hire outstanding engineers as the team expands
- Work through open problems in agent evaluation, context management, and integration with other AI tools
What they're looking for
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, including managing engineers
- Comfort staying hands-on while leading, from reviewing designs to contributing code
- Experience with a stack like Python, TypeScript, React, and PostgreSQL
