JD — the work

About the role

You would do hands-on engineering in front of customers, working with many of the biggest U.S. insurance brokers: you learn their workflows, build AI automations on the company's platform, and ship in days rather than months. The split is about 70% coding and 30% scoping with customers, often hearing a problem on a call and deploying an agent to fix it in the same week. Pre-sales, demos, and upselling sit with a separate team, and your work is folded back into the core product so it helps more than one customer in a trillion-dollar industry that has barely modernized.

What you'll do

  • Lead each enterprise implementation from first requirements through a working, deployed solution
  • Create automations and AI agents that deepen how the biggest strategic accounts use the platform
  • Partner with customers after the sale to pin down their business problems and plan the technical approach
  • Ship quickly, often delivering working solutions in the same week as the customer conversation
  • Generalize what worked for one customer into the core product
  • Help the engineering and product teams convert what customers teach you into features that scale

What they're looking for

  • 3 to 6 years of engineering experience after college; not open to new grads
  • Regular, comfortable interaction with enterprise customers as an engineer
  • Full-stack range, able to ship both client-side and server-side code
  • Experience at a Series A or later startup backed by top-tier VCs
  • A degree from a highly selective university, such as an Ivy, MIT, or Stanford, or equivalent
  • A strong ownership mindset: you create process rather than wait for it

Nice to have

  • Agentic workflows or AI/ML automations you have taken to production
  • Strong skills in Python, TypeScript, or both
  • Domain knowledge from insurance or finance
