About the role
This is an account-owning engineering role: you are your customers' only point of contact, with no success manager or account lead in between, so you build the relationship, diagnose problems, ship fixes, and grow each account. You will use the company's internal libraries and tools to build intricate automations for customers' businesses and act as the human in the loop for its agent engine. Sales conversations and spotting expansion opportunities matter as much as the engineering. The role is on-site in San Francisco; travel is possible but not required.
What you'll do
- Adapt the core agent product to each customer's particular workflows
- Prompt, set up, and coordinate agents in the company's agent-building tool so they can operate older, complicated enterprise software
- Support the agents running your customers' deployments, keeping them reliable as requirements shift
- Shape automation strategy around what customers need while pushing the whole product forward
- Move between very different problems, such as prototyping stealthier browser automation or speeding up document extraction pipelines
- Act as the link between customers and the product and engineering teams, and spot upsell opportunities
What they're looking for
- 4 to 8 years of engineering experience and a naturally personable, charismatic way with customers
- Patience to work through complex, detailed technical problems until you find the answer
- Satisfaction from removing customer frustrations and stretching the product beyond its default capabilities
- Ease working alongside engineers and non-engineers alike
- A preference for creative, deterministic fixes to messy, unstable technical puzzles
- Focus and follow-through under tight deadlines, seeing crunch time as a chance to step up
