About the role
In this customer-embedded engineering role, you would be the front line for the company's most valuable customers, covering bug triage, fast fixes, earning technical trust, and advocating for their experience. The startup is growing fast and needs strong customer-facing engineers to keep the product feeling premium as it scales. The work includes some external representation, such as technical demos and industry trade shows, and the team works on-site in San Francisco.
What you'll do
- Serve as the go-to technical contact for top accounts, handling their questions, bugs, and product asks
- Embed with major customers and turn around fixes and small product upgrades fast
- Learn detection, the backend, and hard versus soft constraints deeply so you can speak credibly with customers
- Run first-pass discovery on feature ideas drawn from customer pain, then land the resulting changes in the code
- Present the product's technical strengths at demos and industry events alongside go-to-market colleagues
What they're looking for
- 2 to 5 years of engineering experience
- Comfort working directly with customers and building technical rapport
- Ability to debug and ship fixes quickly in a TypeScript/Node, React, and Python stack
- Readiness to work on-site in San Francisco and represent the company at events
