About the role
You would take the company's document platform into enterprise environments yourself, from customer VPCs to on-premise bare metal, working hand in hand with customers' platform, security and IT groups. The role needs strong cloud, networking and Kubernetes skills plus clear communication, since you will spend time on calls and in shared chat with customers' engineers and executives. There is already a team lead, and the company is hiring at both mid-career and more junior levels.
What you'll do
- Plan, configure, test and roll out the platform in customer clouds and on-premise data centers
- Collaborate with enterprise engineering teams over shared chat and calls, and visit their offices when needed
- Troubleshoot environment-specific problems, from broken Kubernetes configs and networking faults to tricky cloud permission setups
- Add automation, telemetry and monitoring so each custom install becomes a reusable playbook for the next one
- Learn the hardware requirements of the ML models so they run properly on infrastructure customers control
What they're looking for
- 2 to 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience
- Deep Kubernetes knowledge plus solid networking and cloud fundamentals across AWS, GCP or Azure
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Docker and infrastructure as code
- Clear, calm communication with engineers and executives on the customer side, live and in writing
- Willingness to visit customer offices and work on-site in San Francisco
