About the role
You would turn a set of customer-specific solutions into one shared backend platform at a venture-backed AI company automating office work for US manufacturers. On an engineering team of about five, you would build the agent execution layer, document extraction, and integration tooling used by every customer. The work is greenfield, and you would decide which capabilities belong in the shared platform. The team works in person in New York, with occasional trips to customer plants.
What you'll do
- Take ownership of one platform area, such as evals, ERP connectors, document extraction, or the agent runtime
- Unify several overlapping order-entry tools that share little code into one platform with high reuse
- Work with the field engineering team on new customer requests and judge which ones deserve a platform-level solution
- Keep onboarding fast, with new customers typically running in production within days
- Visit factories roughly five days a month to see operators using your work firsthand
What they're looking for
- 3 to 6 years of experience, with production AI work such as multi-step agents, RAG, vision-language extraction, or evals
- Deep Python skills and broad architecture experience spanning backend, data systems, and AWS
- Shipped products you fully owned and can explain choice by choice
- At least a bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM field
- Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR export rules
- Based in New York or willing to move there

- Previous time as a founder, cofounder, founding engineer, or CTO
- Full-stack ability in addition to backend strength
