About the role
A research-leaning founding engineer role at a small San Francisco company serving private equity funds. The work combines building the AI and data systems that power its decision models with research into simulating what happens after a decision using multi-agent rollouts, all feeding products that help leaders make high-stakes calls. The team is hiring one early-career engineer hungry for startups and two more senior engineers with around 3 to 5 years of experience.
What you'll do
- Develop new research approaches for predicting how decisions play out, including multi-agent rollouts
- Work with the company's domain experts to scope and create new AI products for consequential decisions
- Strengthen the workflows that collect and analyze information, from agent-led voice conversations to automated pipelines
- Use post-training and reinforcement learning so models get steadily better at gathering and analyzing data
- Build the AI and data infrastructure that decision models run on
What they're looking for
- At least 2 years building software or doing research professionally, or a standout set of personal projects
- A self-directed, research-oriented approach to building
- Working skills in both TypeScript and Python
- For the senior openings, roughly 3 to 5 years of experience
- Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco
