About the role
You would own the product experience of a platform where everyday people record their voices, either reading prepared text or taking part in live conversations, to create training data for AI. Many contributors are non-technical, such as stay-at-home parents and part-time workers, so clear design directly drives the quality and approval rate of their work. It is a hands-on role: you design, then ship your own frontend changes to production with AI coding tools, working in person with a small, young team.
What you'll do
- Own the full product experience for the contributor platform, from spotting UX problems to shipping fixes yourself
- Make complicated task instructions easy for non-technical contributors to follow through clear flows and screens
- Work with the founders and engineers to adapt the platform for each new customer data project
- Grow a shared design system with reusable components and a consistent visual style
- Ship your own UI changes on the existing codebase using AI-assisted coding
- Prototype, release, watch how people use it, and iterate to improve usability and comprehension
- Raise polish and consistency, down to empty and loading states, responsive layouts, microcopy, and edge cases
What they're looking for
- 1 to 2 years of product or UX design experience, or strong internships
- Strong design taste and a record of intuitive consumer-facing experiences
- Comfort shipping frontend changes to production yourself with AI-assisted coding
- Working knowledge of Figma, React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
- Thrives in a fast-paced, in-office startup environment
