About the role
You would own product surfaces completely: start from a loosely defined problem, choose the solution, implement it on frontend and backend, release it, and hear directly from merchants how it lands, every week. It is meant for someone who no longer wants to wait for specs and wants to own the full cycle, design sense included. The product is live with a large user base and a meaningful codebase already built, positioned as an alternative to the incumbent commerce stack.
What you'll do
- Carry features all the way from the initial problem to production, on both frontend and backend
- Join customer calls and watch session replays to feel merchants' pain firsthand
- Own product decisions as well as implementation, since you will often know the flow better than anyone
- Hold a high standard for UI polish and intentional design
- Maintain a codebase that new engineers will be glad to inherit
What they're looking for
- 4 to 8 years of engineering experience shipping product
- Strong TypeScript, React, and Node.js skills across the stack
- Real design sensibility and sound product judgment
- Comfort talking with merchants and making product calls independently
- Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco
