JD — the work

About the role

Patient recruitment is the biggest bottleneck in clinical research, and this team's AI agents screen, route, and support trial patients by voice, text, and email across hundreds of studies. The team learned the problem firsthand on the ground with patients, then grew into partnerships with some of the largest research organizations while winning nearly every deal they pursued. As a founding product engineer, you would help scale that system and the models behind it.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate many AI agents working in parallel to recruit patients for hundreds of North American studies
  • Train an in-house ML model that pairs patients with suitable trials, learning from real screening and enrollment results
  • Run LLM conversations over phone, text, and email that stay coherent and personal on every channel
  • Connect to the software research sites already use by reverse engineering older healthcare systems that lack public APIs
  • Improve how agents screen, route, collect data from, and support patients around the clock

What they're looking for

  • 1 to 6 years of software engineering experience
  • Full-stack skills in TypeScript, Python, and Next.js
  • Familiarity with AWS, Terraform, and Docker
  • Drive to own hard problems as a founding engineer in healthcare
  • Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco
