JD — the work
About the role
You would be the company's first security specialist, covering security inside the company as well as in what customers use, at a company whose product is cloud infrastructure. The platform runs in customer cloud accounts on all three major providers, so the problems carry high stakes and real technical depth. The role is engineering-first: you would write software that protects production infrastructure for hundreds of customers, set the security agenda from the ground up, and partner closely with key customers.
What you'll do
- Stand up security engineering as a function, setting internal priorities and practices for a flat team of about 20 engineers
- Ship security features customers use directly, so their own security teams have less to build
- Harden the Kubernetes clusters and cloud setups deployed for customers, writing production Go
- Cover identity and access, network controls, secrets handling, workload isolation, and audit logging across clouds and containers
- Meet with customer security teams to earn their trust, gather requirements, and exceed their standards
What they're looking for
- 4+ years of software engineering with a strong focus on cloud security
- Solid experience writing and shipping production Go code
- Deep knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure security, including IAM and networking
- Hands-on Kubernetes and container security experience
- Comfort working directly with customer security teams
