About the role
This is the first person focused solely on security at the company, and you would build its privacy and security program from nothing for an intricate voice AI product. The scope covers cloud and access security, data protection, and compliance. The right person has stood up or grown a security team at a fast-scaling startup, is hands-on enough to implement controls rather than only write policy, and can pick the highest-impact work without slowing a fast-moving team down.
What you'll do
- Secure the AWS environment end to end: IAM, secrets, encryption, tenant data isolation, and cloud infrastructure
- Run the Type II SOC 2 effort, including the audit observation window, outside vendors, and policy adherence
- Set guardrails, auditing, and access limits for the company's own AI agents, plus an AI usage policy
- Decide what customer data is tokenized or anonymized and who can see it, without slowing developers
- Handle customer-facing security reviews, run outside penetration tests, and approve third-party tools based on their risk
What they're looking for
- 5+ years of security or infrastructure engineering experience
- Experience creating or growing security programs at startups anywhere from Seed to Series C
- Deep hands-on skill implementing controls and systems, not only writing policy
- Strong judgment for prioritizing high-impact security work in a fast-scaling team
- Working knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and Python
