JD — the work

About the role

You would be one of the first engineers writing the operating system for autonomous CNC factories, shipping quickly, gathering input from machinists who use your software daily, and owning whole systems end to end. Everything is built from scratch, including inventory, machine monitoring, quality, and robotic handling, and it is all designed so factories can be replicated across the country to strengthen supply chains vital to defense.

What you'll do

  • Create an in-house ERP for the factory that tracks stock, materials, and how parts move through the building
  • Develop low-latency machine monitoring that reads CNC data and sends instructions back
  • Write quality tooling that monitors parts to micron-level tolerances and drives improvement
  • Work with machinists on the floor and iterate quickly on tools they use every day
  • Contribute to software for robotic part handling
  • Design the software so it can be copied to new factory sites around the country

What they're looking for

  • 2+ years of full-stack software engineering experience
  • Strong Python and Django, with AWS and Kubernetes
  • High agency, a habit of shipping fast, and comfort owning systems end to end
  • Willingness to work on site in Texas alongside machinists
