About the role
This role centers on building and running the data pipelines and third-party integrations that feed an AI platform for owners of big construction programs. Strong Python is essential, along with real integration experience: hitting third-party APIs in high volume while managing rate limits, retries, and asynchronous work, plus orchestration tools. It suits a self-starter who likes keeping critical pipelines healthy today and wants to take on system design over time. The team is small, seed-funded, and heavily AI-native.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain high-volume API integrations, covering authentication, paging, throttling, backoff, idempotent retries, and failure handling
- Build and operate orchestrated pipelines on tools such as Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, or Step Functions
- Keep live pipelines healthy: debug failures, harden weak spots, and stop the same incidents from recurring
- Take clearly defined backend projects from spec to build, tests, release, and monitoring
- Pair with senior teammates and customer-facing engineers to turn lessons from the field into lasting product features
What they're looking for
- 2 to 5 years of software engineering, with Python as your main language
