About the role
You would be the first engineer hired beyond the founders, building voice agents powered by AI that conduct live sales calls with business buyers, covering everything from server-side services to browser automation for live demos. The company has only just begun earning revenue and demand is well ahead of capacity, so you would ship every week, listen to real calls, and work out what to build together with early design partners instead of working from tickets.
What you'll do
- Develop server-side services and APIs for live calls, handling session state, third-party integrations and data flows
- Build the browser-driving agent that clicks through a customer's product on screen while the voice AI is speaking
- Work hands-on with early design partners on bespoke features, then fold what works into the main product
- Write the prompts, tool calls and agent logic that guide the AI through each live demo
- Build front-end screens in React and Next.js as needed, and review recorded calls to iterate quickly
What they're looking for
- 2 to 5 years as a working software engineer with real production systems shipped
- Deep TypeScript and JavaScript skills, especially server-side with Postgres, Node.js and Next.js
- Practical experience with LLM-based systems or real-time apps
- Strong ownership: you spot issues yourself, decide, and deliver without needing close supervision
- Able to work from the New York office, relocating if needed
