JD — the work
About the role
You would own the full loop from customer insight to shipped product at an early-stage health tech startup that is shaping a category of its own in hospital operations. The job is to turn what nurse executives, frontline managers and IT leaders ask for into working software quickly, building and testing prototypes yourself along the way. You would partner closely with the founders and the engineering lead, owning everything from the UI to backend integrations and analytics.
What you'll do
- Convert what CIOs, nursing executives and frontline managers need into released features
- Work with the founders and engineering lead so what gets built matches what the market needs
- Prototype and test ideas yourself in Cursor, Figma and similar AI-assisted tools
- Own every part of the product, from the front-end experience to integrations and backend services
- Set up product analytics from nothing, with a clear plan for what to measure and why
- Demo what you have built to hospital executives and win their confidence
What they're looking for
- 5 to 10 years of experience, with direct health tech experience a must
- Experience launching products before or just after product-market fit, while the problem is still taking shape
- You build and demo your own prototypes rather than only writing specs
- Confidence and credibility in the room with senior health system leaders
- Technical fluency, including basic SQL and a working grasp of data models and system architecture
- Living in New York, or ready to move there, for office days Tuesday to Thursday
