JD — the work
About the role
You would be responsible for the supply chain area of a factory operations platform used by manufacturers in aerospace, energy, robotics and other advanced hardware. The scope covers purchasing, stock levels, supplier management, traceability and BOM/MRP, and it means spending real time on customer shop floors with procurement and supply chain leaders. The team builds with AI throughout, so a PM who can prototype and pull data on their own will have a lot of leverage.
What you'll do
- Define strategy and the roadmap for every supply chain module in the platform, from purchasing to BOM/MRP
- Visit customer factories and sit with procurement and supply chain leaders to learn where operations break down
- Distill complicated material-flow and sourcing rules into crisp specs, mockups and prototypes engineers can build from
- Prototype with AI tools, run your own data queries, explore APIs and sometimes ship code with engineering
- Work with sales, customer success, design and engineering so new supply chain capabilities prove their ROI and roll out smoothly
- Use inventory flow metrics, product usage and customer input to test hypotheses and measure what each feature changes
What they're looking for
- 3 to 10 years of experience combining product management with manufacturing and supply chain work
- Ability to own a product area such as supply chain from end to end
- At ease on factory floors and in conversations with procurement and supply chain leaders
- A knack for turning messy operational processes into simple, well-designed software
Nice to have
- Prior experience working as a software engineer
- Comfort building working prototypes yourself with AI tools
