About the role
An early-career engineering role on the R&D team, building the software behind AI-driven robots that work in real production settings. You would help across the full stack, from embedded firmware up to cloud services, contributing to real-time control, motion planning, machine learning, perception, and labeling tools. The role is on-site full time in the Boston area with a collaborative team that keeps egos low, and it includes time at customer sites seeing your code run on real robots.
What you'll do
- Help integrate real-time robot control, motion-planning optimization, and ML pipelines across robot platforms
- Build and maintain data-labeling tools, perception software, and compiler-level optimizations for robot behavior
- Pick up problems at any layer, from firmware through cloud infrastructure, as priorities shift
- Work through designs with teammates at the whiteboard and ship what you build
- Join deployments at customer facilities to make sure software performs on real robots
What they're looking for
- 1 to 3 years of software engineering experience
- Very strong programming skills and eagerness to tackle hard, cross-stack problems
- Comfort learning across layers, from low-level embedded code to cloud systems
- Experience with Python or C/C++; exposure to TypeScript, Docker, or Kubernetes is useful
- Willingness to work on-site full time and visit customer facilities
