About the role
A systems engineering role on the autonomous haulage team for someone with a few years of hands-on robotics experience. The team is expanding deployments at mines and quarries internationally, and the systems group is small and influential, integrating self-driving truck systems that already run in production at several sites. You would be among the first engineers defining how autonomy is rolled out on real vehicles, so it suits someone who enjoys ambiguity and likes starting things from scratch.
What you'll do
- Take autonomy work from early prototype to dependable performance on production haul trucks, validating as you go
- Handle system-level integration of compute, sensors, software, and networking, and confirm it performs in testing
- Drive technical bring-up of new truck platforms from several equipment makers, including calibration, sensor setup, and tuning
- Develop release gates, validation checks, and diagnostic tools for an expanding international fleet
- Partner with controls, planning, safety, and operations to make autonomy dependable in demanding mine environments
What they're looking for
- 2 to 4 years of experience in robotics, autonomy, or systems integration
- Practical time getting robots working outside the lab
- Python and C/C++ skills; the stack also includes Java, C#, Git, and CI/CD
- Enjoys ambiguity and creating new systems from scratch
