JD — the work
About the role
You would take charge of key product initiatives at an early-stage, AI-native startup that sits between fintech and healthtech, partnering with the CTO on the platform senior care operators use to manage revenue and payments. The system handles significant payment volume for operators across most of the country. Expect high ownership with little scaffolding around you: take an unclear problem, break it down, and ship it, while treating financial data carefully. The work directly helps older adults and their families as they arrange care.
What you'll do
- Split product initiatives into workable pieces and carry each one into production yourself
- Set the direction of the backend through architecture and design choices
- Help shape product ideas and priorities together with product managers and non-technical teammates
- Extend the AI automation behind payment, claims, and revenue processes
- Improve internal tools and team processes as one of the first engineers
What they're looking for
- 6 to 12 years of software engineering, mostly on the backend
- Strong Node.js with Express, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL; Ruby on Rails is also in the stack
- Comfort owning ambiguous work end to end with minimal support
- Careful handling of financial data paired with a bias for moving quickly
