JD — the work
About the role
You would own and grow the division's highest-revenue product: an automated service that recovers money restaurants lose when third-party delivery apps make errors, issue unjustified refunds, or pass through chargebacks. The goal is a fully automated dispute process, from pulling in data and deciding what to contest to submitting, following up, and closing each case. Expectations for engineering quality are very high, and the work spans a group of related businesses that together serve a very large number of restaurants worldwide.
What you'll do
- Own the dispute-recovery product end to end, automating each step to raise dispute success
- Write dependable, scalable Java services, plus user-facing screens that show where each dispute stands and how it ended
- Run experiments that push up automation levels and dispute win rates, measured by money recovered and problems avoided
- Protect uptime and quality with solid design, test automation, and good observability
- Partner with support, operations, data, and product to turn what customers say into engineering changes
What they're looking for
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong Java backend skills
- Ability to build straightforward front-end experiences alongside backend services
- Comfort measuring your work against concrete business results
- Comfortable in a stack that also uses Go, Node.js, AWS, GCP, and CI/CD
- Appetite for hard problems with large real-world impact
