About the role
You would own and build entirely new product areas at an insurance AI startup whose agents handle complex workflows over phone, chat, email, and text. Around 80% of the work is greenfield, centered on a new platform for document intelligence and browser automation. The team is about 15 people, mostly in engineering and product, revenue has grown quickly since launch, and you would report to the CEO in San Francisco.
What you'll do
- Build and own live, conversational AI agents that run insurance workflows from design to production
- Ship new features quickly across TypeScript, React, and Node.js, with your first PR live in week one
- Collaborate with forward-deployed engineers and product, and join some customer calls to demo what you built
- Influence choices about infrastructure, tooling, and system design while the company scales fast
- Help define how engineering works and coach newer hires while headcount roughly doubles this year
