JD — the work
About the role
This full-stack engineering job is aimed squarely at growth: you would own everything from a developer's first visit through signup, first successful use, onboarding, and upgrading to paid, and you would be judged on how those numbers move. The company runs a product-led business around a popular API that feeds web data to AI applications, and revenue has grown very quickly. You would report to the head of revenue, write production code rather than marketing plans, and be in the office every weekday (San Francisco, or the company's Canadian office).
What you'll do
- Own the developer funnel end to end, from signup through activation, onboarding, and upgrade
- Instrument each step of the funnel and run experiments, then roll out whatever improves the numbers
- Build across the stack, from the first page a developer sees to the services behind it
- Treat activation and conversion rates as your own numbers to measure and improve
- Work close to product data, forming hypotheses, testing them, and iterating quickly on what works
What they're looking for
- 5+ years of full-stack engineering, including work on growth or product-led products
- A funnel, signup, or activation metric you personally owned and measurably improved
- Real A/B testing experience, including lessons from experiments that did not work out
- Startup or smaller-company experience, not only time at large organizations
- Experience with developer-facing products such as SDKs, APIs, docs, or playgrounds, and how developers adopt tools
- Real tenure at past jobs; the team wants someone who stays to see work through
Nice to have
- Shipped in-product onboarding, upgrade flows, or conversion pages at a devtools or SaaS company
- Experience with Next.js, React, TypeScript, Vercel, and PostgreSQL
- Production work with LLMs, such as prompt design, tool calling, or inference pipelines
