About the role
You would architect and grow big distributed systems at a profitable, fast-growing go-to-market platform that is reworking its product to be AI- and agent-first. The team wants someone who has run systems at scale and knows which tool fits which job, combining distributed components into something bigger than the parts. You would own major systems end to end on a high-bar team where AI-assisted development is standard practice.
What you'll do
- Own major systems and features from design to production and ongoing operation
- Build and run large distributed systems, choosing and combining technologies like Kafka and various databases
- Take messy, difficult problems from ambiguity to shipped results, owning their reliability, speed, and cost
- Create agent-based AI features for a global user base
- Build with AI coding agents every day as a normal way of working
What they're looking for
- 5 to 8 years of software engineering experience
- Hands-on experience building and operating distributed systems at scale
- Judgment about which tools fit a problem, not just familiarity with them
- End-to-end ownership of systems, from first design to live operation
