JD — the work
About the role
A small, focused team, acquired by a global contract-management software company and reporting to its CEO, is building AI agents that automate intricate contract processes for enterprises. You would design and create foundational features from zero alongside the original founders, owning them from concept to production with security, reliability, and scale in mind. It is greenfield, early-stage work with real influence over the product, backed by the resources of a much larger parent.
What you'll do
- Design greenfield core features with the founders, putting reliability, scale, and security first
- Build and maintain agent-driven product capabilities that hold up at scale
- Wire agent workflows into models, internal databases, enterprise business systems, APIs, and third-party tools
- Develop and deploy Python agents that take over multi-step contract work
- Work with customers and teams across the business to turn requirements into shipped systems
- Carry features from idea to production and keep them running
- Help define how the team works, from engineering standards to tooling and culture
What they're looking for
- 5+ years of experience shipping software products
- Hands-on product development with AI and agentic systems
- At home in a fast, early-stage environment, owning features fully, with a history of shipping
- Strong Python; the stack also includes JavaScript, TypeScript, AWS, and Azure
Nice to have
- Prior time as one of the first engineers at a startup
