JD — the work
About the role
This role is for an engineer who is also a genuine visual craftsperson, obsessed with the small details of UI and UX so the product is a pleasure to use, not just functional. You would own design from Figma wireframes through React and TypeScript implementation, and build the component library and design system the rest of the product relies on. The goal is to lift UI quality across a complex mortgage product, one carefully built component at a time.
What you'll do
- Own design from Figma wireframes to production React and TypeScript
- Grow a design system and shared component library built on shadcn/ui that scales with the product
- Write accessible React components with proper ARIA, keyboard support, and focus handling
- Partner with PMs and engineers to make intricate lending flows feel simple and elegant
- Set and uphold visual and interaction standards so the product feels consistent
What they're looking for
- 5+ years of engineering with a strong focus on frontend and UI
- Deep React and TypeScript skills, plus fluency in Figma
- Practical accessibility knowledge, including ARIA, keyboard navigation, and focus management
- A designer's eye for detail and genuine visual craft
