About the role

This is a core engineering role on a lean team of about a dozen engineers at an AI-native home health company whose documentation product is already widely deployed. You would take real ownership in scaling existing services and building fresh LLM and generative AI workflows as the company works to replace the industry's legacy systems. The team wants a backend-leaning engineer who cares about healthcare and has startup experience somewhere between pre-seed and Series B. It is hybrid in San Francisco.

What you'll do

  • Create the backend systems that call LLMs and other generative models, and the infrastructure around them
  • Lead new projects from quick MVPs through hardening into secure, dependable systems at scale
  • Keep scaling the existing, heavily used products as more agencies come on board
  • Raise the bar on system design, monitoring, and code quality
  • Work hand in hand with the CTO and other engineers in a flat team

What they're looking for

  • 5+ years of software engineering, mostly on the backend
  • Experience at an early or growth-stage startup, roughly pre-seed through Series B
  • Comfort with Python, TypeScript, and databases like MongoDB and PostgreSQL on AWS
  • A real interest in healthcare and appetite for broad ownership
