JD — the work
About the role
You would create the software and screens that bring exceptional people to the US to work and build, spanning internal case-management tools and the portal applicants use. The work runs from React front ends to real-time services, APIs, and the data layer, so it suits a senior full-stack engineer with deep experience in complex web apps and the versatility to jump into any part of the product. Engineers here collaborate every week with customers, product, and the legal operations group; the team is spread across New York and San Francisco, and the company sponsors visas.
What you'll do
- Ship major product features that span the client and the server
- Grow the React architecture so it copes with richer workflows, trickier state management, and real-time data
- Create collaborative document editing and review tools, plus interfaces for overseeing and steering AI-driven work
- Turn rough prototypes into robust, refined software alongside product and a design engineer
- Research unclear problems yourself and test ideas with real users rather than waiting for approval
What they're looking for
- 4+ years building full-stack product, with real depth in TypeScript and React
- Launched products from zero and kept owning the architecture as users and complexity grew
- Built sophisticated web apps and understand state management, performance, syncing, and concurrent-edit tradeoffs
- At ease writing server-side services and deciding what logic lives on the client versus the server
- Ability to research, prototype, and solve hard problems in unfamiliar systems independently
Nice to have
- Work on rich-text editors, real-time collaboration, CRDTs, WebSockets or SSE, or AI products
