JD — the work
About the role
The platform group creates self-serve tools, shared libraries, and automation so product engineers can release features fast and safely. You would run infrastructure like an internal product for the rest of engineering, owning reliability, performance, and scale as the company's AI-native mortgage platform grows. It is a senior or staff role for a proactive engineer who has built serious developer tooling before, and the team is fully remote across the US.
What you'll do
- Manage and grow the AWS footprint through Pulumi and Terraform, with fellow engineers as your customers
- Build internal developer tooling, shared TypeScript libraries, and SDKs that standardize how software ships
- Run Buildkite CI/CD pipelines and ephemeral per-PR environments so deploys are easy and safe
- Improve reliability with SLOs, autoscaling, and incident response, and deepen observability using Datadog
- Tackle scaling problems across the platform, from Aurora PostgreSQL tuning to compute autoscaling
What they're looking for
- 7+ years of engineering, with deep experience building internal tooling and platform systems
- Strong TypeScript plus hands-on AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD experience
- Experience running reliable systems with SLOs, incident response, and observability tooling
- A proactive owner who builds platforms other engineers genuinely want to use
