JD — the work
About the role
Engineering sits at the center of this business banking company, and this role builds and extends the central banking product, which moves billions every year. The work blends infrastructure-grade thinking with strong product sense: you ship fault-tolerant financial building blocks that every customer depends on, quickly and cleanly. Scope grows with trust, and individual engineers here have built and scaled whole product lines, such as invoicing, expense management, and the mobile app, largely on their own. The team works on-site in San Francisco.
What you'll do
- Own whole product areas, covering data modeling, APIs, and the screens customers rely on daily
- Grow the core money-movement systems, including card management, transfers, bill pay, invoicing, and customer onboarding
- Model data, author migrations, and write the services behind intricate, multi-step money flows
- Partner with compliance, design, and product so every release is accurate, compliant, and genuinely easy to use
- Help set engineering standards and architecture as your scope grows with trust
What they're looking for
- Senior or staff-level experience owning product features across backend and frontend
- Experience with the team's stack: TypeScript, PostgreSQL, React, TailwindCSS, and Next.js
- Strong data modeling and API design skills for systems where correctness matters
- Care for small details, which make or break financial software
- A bias for speed, clean work, and ownership, and readiness to work on-site in San Francisco
