JD — the work
About the role
You would be one of the early engineers at a fast-growing company building data infrastructure for AI, working as a generalist who takes features from start to finish and ships quickly. The work sits close to the operations team: you'd find where operators get slowed down and create the systems the business needs to scale. AI coding tools are central to how the team works. The role is in person in New York or San Francisco.
What you'll do
- Sit with operators to spot bottlenecks and build product that gives them more leverage
- Own features across a TypeScript stack, front to back, and ship in days
- Lean on AI coding assistants like Cursor and Copilot while checking their output carefully
- Talk to internal users directly and make practical calls on product scope and design
- Switch focus as priorities change and take on whatever each problem needs
What they're looking for
- 1 to 5 years of full-stack software engineering
- Full-stack TypeScript experience spanning infrastructure and frontend
- A track record of shipping production features on your own, from idea to release
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues who are not technical
- A CS or other technical degree
Nice to have
- Experience building internal tooling for ops teams or other non-technical users
- Using AI coding assistants like Cursor or Copilot every day
- Startup experience, or a fast promotion track at a large tech company
- Happy to work from the New York or San Francisco office five days a week
