About the role
You would build backend infrastructure for a real-time crypto trading platform, working in production Rust on risk, settlement, real-time pricing feeds, and fast APIs. The company is a small, well-funded team started by crypto trading veterans, including the builder of a leading order-execution terminal and a former head of a top high-frequency trading firm. It is looking for someone strong in async programming and systems fundamentals, obsessed with performance, and energized by close, in-person teamwork in New York.
What you'll do
- Develop liquidation and risk engines that keep capital working efficiently when markets swing hard
- Design on-chain state machines driving settlement, risk checks, and trade execution
- Keep state consistent across asynchronous processes with consensus, voting, and other coordination techniques
- Ingest real-time market feeds over WebSockets and orchestrate time-critical actions across many venues
- Ship low-latency WebSocket and REST endpoints that answer the trading UI within milliseconds
What they're looking for
- 2 to 4 years of experience, including production Rust
- Deep fluency in async programming and systems-level concepts
- A performance-first mindset for latency-sensitive systems
- Enthusiasm for high-bandwidth, in-person collaboration on-site in New York
