About the role
An infrastructure-focused software engineering role on a small, senior platform team that works under the CTO. This is not classic SRE or DevOps: you would meet the same coding bar as product engineers and bring curiosity about infrastructure, keeping the platform stable, secure, and fast for Fortune 500 customers. The team is deliberately small, so each engineer has outsized impact and real ownership, and it looks for people excited by startup intensity and upside. The role is hybrid in San Francisco.
What you'll do
- Keep the platform stable, secure, scalable, and fast for large enterprise customers
- Take charge of key infra systems and make architecture calls largely on your own
- Give product engineers the tooling, systems, and practices to ship fast
- Help shape the roadmap, system design, and product direction with leadership and fellow engineers
- Talk to enterprise clients firsthand about product feedback and infrastructure problems
- Raise the platform group's engineering standards and ways of working
What they're looking for
- 4+ years of software engineering with hands-on infrastructure work
- Strong coding fundamentals, assessed with the product engineering interview
- Experience running cloud infrastructure for large workloads, for example Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, or GCP
- History of shipping dependable, high-performance systems
- Ideal background: three to five years at a large, top tech company, then a move to a startup
