About the role
A foundational engineering hire at a small company whose voice AI handles phone calls for healthcare organizations with very low latency. You would own large workstreams across product and infrastructure, each tied directly to revenue, and are expected to grow into leading a planned wave of new engineers as the team expands. The work spans the live voice stack, the customer-facing dashboard, the runtime that executes agents, and analytics, with regular time in customer meetings. The role is on-site in San Francisco or New York.
What you'll do
- Grow telephony infrastructure from millions toward billions of calls per year
- Own whole product lines such as collections agents, document OCR, permissioning, and outbound automation
- Build outbound call management, reporting, and self-serve tools for enterprise customers
- Architect systems under tight latency and reliability constraints, making sound calls amid ambiguity
- Join customer meetings and turn what you learn into product decisions
- Take on hiring, delegation, and mentoring as you step into team leadership
