About the role
A senior engineering role on the R&D team, writing the software that runs AI-driven robots in live production settings. The work spans the whole stack, anywhere from embedded firmware up to the cloud, and covers real-time robot control, motion planning, machine learning pipelines, perception, and deployment at customer sites. You would work on-site full time in the Boston area with a friendly team that keeps egos low, and your code shows up directly on robots doing real work.
What you'll do
- Tie together real-time control software, motion-planning optimizers, and ML pipelines on different robot platforms
- Build data-labeling UIs, perception components, and optimizing compilers that make the robots smarter
- Work at every layer of the robotics stack, embedded code through cloud services, wherever help is most needed
- Design systems with teammates at the whiteboard, then build and ship them
- Deploy on-site at customer facilities and make sure the code delivers on real robots
What they're looking for
- 5 to 10 years of software engineering experience
- Exceptional programming ability and an appetite for hard problems that cut across the stack
- Comfort at every layer, from low-level embedded code to cloud systems
- Experience with Python and C/C++; TypeScript, Docker, or Kubernetes also useful
- Willingness to work on-site full time and spend time in customer facilities
