About the role
You would anchor the technical side of a small engineering group whose AI agents speed up clinical trials, writing and reviewing code every day while coaching three early-career engineers. Alongside the founders, product, and the customer success team, you would take new products from idea to launch on a product that hundreds of research sites already rely on. With a team of fewer than ten people, you would set the team's culture, ways of working, and architecture almost from scratch. The role is hybrid in San Francisco.
What you'll do
- Take AI products from concept to launch, including agent workflows, LLM features, and evals running in production
- Mentor the three less experienced engineers on the team and set norms for code review and process
- Partner with the CTO, the PM, and customer-facing colleagues to learn what users need and define new products
- Design and deliver full-stack systems that span the UI, server side, infra, and data flows
- Write and review code daily as a hands-on staff-level contributor
